Private entrance tests in India
The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is conducted across 15 centers in Tamil Nadu by Anna University, mostly in March each year. It is a state level examination for admissions into the colleges affiliated to Anna University, Government and private colleges in Tamil Nadu for MBA, MTech, ME, MCA etc.
The application process usually starts in the month of January and extends till the end of February. The application form is common for the entrance tests of all the disciplines. Candidates can also apply for more than 1 program by paying an additional amount for each program.
The common eligibility criteria to take the entrance exam are- a 3 years bachelors degree or a 3 years diploma degree or BE/ BTech/ BArch/ BPharm and candidates appearing for the final year exam of their degree.
The application process is online. Candidates have to fill in only 1 application form even though they wish to attempt 3 entrance exams.
TANCET Exam 2018-2019 are not out yet but it is likely to be held around the last week of March.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is conducted in the month of April (22nd April 2018), for admissions into Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture into the Government and private colleges in the state.
The eligibility criteria that have to be followed by the candidates for WBJEE Exam 2018-2019 are-
- Candidates have to be Indian citizens.
- While there is no upper age limit for WBJEE, candidates must be 17yrs of age as on December 31st, 2018. And the birth date must not fall on or before December 31st, 2001.
- Candidates must have obtained at least 45% (40% for reserved category) collectively in the major subjects in the 12 std. And with 30% in the English language.
The WBJEE comprises of 2 compulsory papers I (Maths) and paper II (Physics and Chemistry). The duration of the exam is 2 hrs. The mode of exam is offline OMR and WBJEE will be conducted in 46 centers in West Bengal and also in Assam and Tripura.
The Graduate Management Admission Council conducts the NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test). The NMAT opens the door to Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and 23 B-schools across India. It is a computer-based test, ranked and consistent in terms of graduate B-school programs. Usually, it is conducted during the 1st week of October and 4th week of December.
The NMAT applicants have to be graduates from recognized university with 50% aggregate in the 1st attempt. Candidates appearing for final year graduate exam/ those awaiting results can also apply but should have cleared the exams with 50% aggregate in the 1st attempt. For the 2-year full-time Management program, candidates with at least 2 years of work- experience after qualification are preferred.
The NMAT Exam 2018-2019 is a 120-min test with 3 sections- language skills, quantitative skills, logical reasoning, the sections being separately timed. The candidate has to attempt, review his answers in that time.
Xavier Aptitude Test is a national level Management exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur. XAT gives way to postgraduate Management programs in XLRI and over 150 B-schools in India.
The eligibility criterion for XAT is- Bachelors degree from a recognized university in any discipline. Final year degree students are also eligible to apply if they fulfill the criteria during the time of admission. Candidates with 3 years post qualification work experience will be preferred for Global Business Management.
The application process for XAT Exam 2018-2019 started around the 2nd week of August and extends until the end of November. XAT is usually conducted on the 1st Sunday of January, across the important cities in India, and also in Dubai and Kathmandu. The test duration is usually of 3hrs and 35min, with objective and subjective type questions. The exam includes quantitative ability, English language, and logical reasoning, decision making, GK, and essay.
The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is the mandatory entrance exam conducted by the Symbiosis International University. This test is suitable for admittance into 15 institutes under SIU and other MBA or related courses. SNAP is also a computer-based exam that is conducted in over 100 cities in India.
To be eligible, while there is no age- limit to attempt SNAP, graduates from any recognized university with at least 50% marks aggregate (45% for reserved category) is required. Graduates from a Foreign University must get their degrees verified from Association of Indian Universities before they seek admission through SNAP. Some of the courses require that the candidates obtain a degree previously in the relevant field. Final year graduate students are also eligible.
The registration for SNAP test beings around the 2nd week of August until the 4th week of November. The exam is held during the 3rd week of December. Aspirants need to register through the official website www.snaptest.org.
SNAP Exam 2018-2019 is an online objective test of 120min duration. The test contains General English(RC, verbal reasoning, verbal ability), quantitative, data interpretation and data sufficiency, current affairs, analytical and logical reasoning.
